    (x*x+y*y+z*z+3)**2>16*(x*x+y*y) is directly from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torus

    with R=2 and r=1

    This example shoots rays from (0,0,4). In order to rotate the shape you have to move where the rays come from, the camera!

    Thanks for the explanation 👍

    Including x<n and .2i from u/rodrigo.siqueira

    amazing! how many extra bytes to have it less pixellized?
  • u/tomxor
    Only +2 for 1/4 HD: d/18436 but your CPU will cry :P in fact full HD fits but you have to start measuring the speed in seconds per frame.

    64 bytes: t?r=(5*r+1)%256:r=0,x.beginPath(x.stroke()),x.arc(960,540,r,0,7)

  • Experimenting with #raytracing. I finally figured out why the cosine trick from d/1112 works.

    Using only good old Pythagoras. This method can be used to estimate π ≈ 4*(number of points in the circle / total number of points) // t?1:d=g=0;A=Array(s=6e3).fill().map(Math.random);for(i=s;i--;(a**2+b**2)**.5<=1?d++:1)a=A[i],b=A[s-i];g+=s;throw(4*d/g)

    Very cool!
