best attempt at an uncompressed version: for(c.width=i=512;i--;x.fillStyle=R(X=I%8*8,Y=I/8|7,Z=I&56),x.fillRect(9+C(t+Math.atan(Z/X))*(X*X+Z*Z)**.5,Y,9,9))I=7*(S(t)<0)+56*(C(t)<0)^i

Great! Suggestion for future code: Y=t*60 is 1 character shorter than Y=frame and it also prevents the "while line" on top because frame starts with "1" and t*60 starts with "0"

  • Voxel Rendering
  • u/SockTaters
The math in R() ensures the farthest voxels from the viewer are drawn first regardless of rotation. If a 2**X by 2**X grid is labeled the obvious way (with the numbers 0 to 2**(2*X)-1 left-to-right, top-to-bottom) and n is the index of a given corner, then i^n maps i to an ordering that starts at n's corner and ends at the opposite corner. Rectangles of 2**X by 2**Y might also work. The math in R() is somewhat obfuscated for golfing purposes.
  • u/SockTaters
n=[0,3,12,15][0];for(i=0;i<16;)console.log(i++^n)// try these 4 corner indices
