    My favorite trick here is onmousemove=e=>T=e:x , so you can get coords from T.x and T.y later. And the letter T prevents the "ReferenceError: X is not defined" initialization bug, since T is a previously defined variable.

    You can compress even more by changing the random component from i*i%255 to i*i%w but the image will be a little bit lighter.

    My second favorite trick here is the ternary operator: t?(...when t=0...):(...when t>0...)
