u(t) is called 60 times per second. t: Elapsed time in seconds. S: Shorthand for Math.sin. C: Shorthand for Math.cos. T: Shorthand for Math.tan. R: Function that generates rgba-strings, usage ex.: R(255, 255, 255, 0.5) c: A 1920x1080 canvas. x: A 2D context for that canvas.

    it's the same , i compute a random orientation for the velocity and than apply S and C of it to the point
  • u/iverjo
    b4rc0ll0: This dweet doesn't use S and C. Instead it has variables U and V for horizontal and vertical speed respectively. This makes the speed dynamic. Interestingly, this technique also yields more diagonal motion.

    oh, nice to know someone had similar idea

    At first it drew what looked like a princess with hair and my mind was blown. Then I saw Math.random :P I guess this demo can "accidentally" draw something very nice

    Here's a version that draws only once: if(!t){a=255;for(i=0;i<1920;i+=5)for(j=0;j<1080;j+=5)x.fillStyle=R(r=(a*C(.0174*i))%a,g=(a*S(.0174*j))%a,r*g%a),x.fillRect(i,j,5,5)}

    Oh, Thanks! It was very helpful.

    Remember that you can replace Math.sin with S for brevity
