btw, changing the angle a from 137.5 to 137.3 or 137.6 produce different, albeit nice, patterns.

Also.. shouldn't it be 137.5 * pi / 180 ~~ 2.39982772149 as the trigonometric functions take in radians?

137.5 also kind of "isolates" the spirals after a short while while 2.4 does not

I was just working on a Phyllotaxis dweet, though i was trying to use ellipse that just needs way too many characters

Although the point about radians is fully correct, I'd like to point out that the most accurate IEEE single float approximation of this angle in degrees is 137.50777 (which internally becomes 137.5077667236328125)

Try 2.3999631 for maximum IEEE single float precision (it'll expand internally to 2.3999631404876708984375 due to how IEEE754 works)
